The Final Battle

In a region of space located near the outer fringes of the galaxy, the stage was being set for the last of the major and chaotic battles of the Great Jedi War.

Sanush knew that sooner or later, there would be a major offensive launched against him from the Jedi. He wasn't very worried about it however; as many other smaller gruops of Jedi had tried and miserably failed to take his fortress, and as he now had the support of dozens of other lords and hundreds of dark warriors, he felt there was very little the Jedi could do. Still, he dug into his moon instilation, fortified his forces even further, strengthend his anti-seige weapons, and began plans to resume the offensive.

Meanwhile, the Jedi were consolidating their forces. Assembled at a secret location, powerful masters and leaders of the many different Jedi clans and groups tried to form some kind of plan to inflitrate and bring down the mighty Sith Fortress and defeat Sanush. It wasn't an easy task by a long shot: Sanush was a master war tactician, as well as a powerful, ruthless, and destructive warrior. Even his lightsabre skills were said to be unbeatable. Then there was his army, well trained, formidible, and just about as ruthless as he was. This was on top of all the other formidible dark lords that were with him.

It was soon determined that a large scale assualt was about the only viable option to the Jedi, and that it would have to be run by true masters of war tatics. They would also have to rely on commited non-Jedi forces as well. The war leaders of the Lucasian Order, the head of the JeMSU group, the jonin of the Shinobi Army 2000, and the heads of the Correllian Firestorm Corps were just some of the prominent people on hand to devise a combat strategy. Also called to help was the founder of the Order of the Black Phoenix, who was still alive, depite all the years that had gone by. Along with the current leader and members of his order, he would again prove his worth by being one of the cheif masterminds behind the assault, and would come up with the major phases and complexities of the battle plan. This would end up being his last battle.

He realized that the best way they could plan the assault was to attack in stages, and at different angles and points. He also advocated using scanner jammers, camoflage, Force trickery, and other war tactics to hide their full numbers, so that the Sith wouldn't know just how many Jedi forces were still waiting out in the distance while the other forces were attacking. Tere were also plans to draw out certain defensive Sth forces for a more effective onslaught.

The plannng would continue for 2 weeks, and when they finally came up with a strategy that all the masters could agree on (and that wouldn't be ridiculed by a few of them), they began to gather and prepare their Jedi Knights and troops.

For the next 2 months, false information was spread that Jedi Forces were being moved out to assault a major Sith military instilation in the Kruxton system. It made military sense to the Sith, as it was a major supply point. A few Lords would rush out to that location, prepared to defend the area.

But when they would be surprized to find out that not only was there no attack at that location, but that Sanush was being assulted. Being far away from the Dark lord as they were, they wouldn't be able to lend assistance in time. Still, they felt his forces were strong and numerous enough to last.

Shinobi 2000 agents were able to sneak onto the moon without detection, and take out a few of the planetary sheilding and scanning centers. By the time the Sith forces were able to figure out what was happening, a large armed force made up of Jedi Knights and non-Force using troops had already landed and were advancing upon the fortress.

Sanush immediatetly lauched his own armies out, and along with the anti-air and anti-siege weapons firing away (which the Shinobi agents were busy trying to deactivate), the battle had begun.

It seemed at first that the Jedi were not doing very well. Scores of them were being killed, and they didn't seem to be getting too close to the fortress. Several Jedi clans had taken some heavy casualties, and the non-Jedi troops didn't seem to be faring well either. But then Sanush and his fellow Dark Lords were surpised to see fighters and bombers attacking from a completely different direction, and from an unknown quadreant. And even more toopers were landing. Sanush quickly realized that he was tricked... there were a lot more Jedi fighting here than he realized. And they were spreading his forces thin.

Then the unthinkable happend: the gates suddenly opened up, and the kinetic energy bridge engaged. The agents had succsessfully infiltrated the stronghold, and were already casusing chaos in one of the control rooms. Enraged, Sanush sent men towards the disturbance, while getting ready to joing the battle himself.

After some bitter stuggle, the Jedi were finally able to break into the stronghold, and it was then that the battle would reach new hights of carnage. Jedi Knights would clash violently with Sith Warrior, Jedi Masters would engage in deadly combat with Sith Lords. As blasters fired, lightsabres crashed against each other, and the Force was used in titanic proportions, the very foundations of the fortress began to shake.

Sanush's forces were losing, and he was beginning to realize it. Someone was able to out-think him in war stragegy, and took advantage of his decisions on the battlefield. He didn't like it at all, and let his rage carry him to new heights of carnage. Jedi Masters, Knights, and apprentices were all dying horribly before him.

However he would soon find himself face to face with the main one responsible for this well crafted attack. The founder of the Black Phoenix would challenge him to a finally duel. All the other Sith, terrified of this Jedi, all hoped that this giant of Sith tradition would be the one to finish this threat off.

From what many there would write later, it was a titanitc bout. They were both true masters of their craft, and weilded the Force and their weapons with a skill that has probably not been seen since. Major portions of the fortress ended up being destroyed because of them.

It seemed that they were both on equal footing. However, it would soon be the Jedi master who would win. Having devoted himself to totally mastering the lightsabre and the Force, and developing a system and Jedi discipline that would be sought after for gernations to come, he was able to defeat the Dark Lord, to the releif and celebation of the Jedi forces, and the astonishment, terror, and demoralization of the Sith Warriors.

With most of them dead, or dying, and with their last mighty leader gone, the Sith quickly gave up. The Jedi and their allies would soon raise a huge shout of joy and triumph. With this huge blow dealt to the armies of the Darkside, the war would surely be over. Finally, the days of carnage, bloodshed, and disastrous warfare would be over. Peace would come at last.

However, Sanush admited a dark secret to the Black Phoenix master before he died. There was yet another major threat to be dealt with... one that was hidden in their midst of the Jedi themselves....
