Arrival of the Aliens

Human history was about to take a fatefull turn. Just as the war was about to begin in earnest, they arrived.

The ships were spotted just outside Earth's atmosphere in the year 2004. They were notified and called in by agents left in the planet centuries ago, placed deep within the Earth in hidden bases. Their mission was to monitor the humans living on the planet, charting their progress and failings. When they saw what was about to happen, the agents felt that they had to intervine, and sent in an urgent call to their superiors. Thus the arrival of the otherworldly beings.

Naturally the world was put on guard, and a few countries tried to "defend themselves" against the beings. It was a useless action as their weapons were easily disposed of and rendered useless, their technology being vastly superior to that of the humans. Yet, that wasn't the only amazing thing about them... the powers they weilded to defend themselves against their attackers was unncany. Everything from telekenitics, to energy manipulation seemed to be at their disposal. Fortunatly for the humans, the aliens weren't trying to hurt them.

After establishing that they didn't mean any harm (as well as letting the humans realize their hostile efforts were futile), they introduced themselves to the world. A conglomerate of different species, many apearing to be humaniod, and some others recognizable from various ufo accounts and alien encounter stories (there were a few "grey's" there as well), they formed a small contingent from a galatcical order of guardians sworn to watch over and protect the galaxy. Seeing that the Earth was tetering over the edge of chaos, they decided now was the time to intervene, and show the inhabitants of the planet a better way to live.

All this was broadcasted over the planet, and everyone was filled with the usual feelings one would expect from something like this: excitement, anxiety, apprehention, curiosity, etc. A good number of people noticed something peculiar about them; their powers, their mannerisms, the way they carried themselves... they were somewhat remenicant of the Jedi characters that George Lucas supposedly dreamed up for his movies. This got a few people wondering if there was any connection. But soon it was revealed that many of the aliens used a particular exotic weapon against the military forces who were fighting against them...

...lightsabres.

Suddenly Lucas had some explaining to do.

In a press conference he admited that before he made the Star Wars movies, he came across a galactic traveler, a man by the name of Shasra. Shasra was actualy born on Earth, but while still a child, he lost his family in a freak fire accident. This was during a time when the alien beings were making a routine run to the planet, checking up on the agents there monitoring things. A few were nearby when this happened, and took pity on the child. They decided to take him with them. Shasra learned much from his new benefactors, including secrets that inhanced his phisical, mental and spiritual abilities. He gained powers that were latent in him, latent in fact to all human beings. They were the things that all the members of the galactic order knew and practiced. The Order had many names throught the galaxy, all basicly meaning the same thing, protectors. They were a very powerful and mystical order, able to do things normal beings couldn't. They also tended to live for long periods of time, because of their training. Shasra was actualy past 400 years of age when Lucas met him, yet he looked as if he was in his 50's. Shasra had taken a liking to Lucas, as he saw a kind of kindred spirit of adventure in him. So he shared many tales of his life, and many of the things he had seen. This influenced and enchanted Lucas greatly, and he wanted to tell others. But he knew he'd be seen as a nut, and everything he'd say would be discounted. However, he knew that sooner or later, humans would have to know about this, and would have to be prepared. Plus all the things he heard had given him a lot of inspiration for his work. Thus, Star Wars was born.

The visitors settled their ships in Egypt, near the ancient pyramids, and began their quest to end the discord and useless bickering that ran rampant on the planet. The reason they gave for chosing that location was because they admited being there before. According to them, they had been visting Earth for some time, helping humankind since the dawn of their existance. This was how great civalizations were able to spring up in the past, with advancements that boggled the mind. It was actually through the work of the species known by the name Elders to the other species. They looked very much like humans, save for their much taller statures and bigger eyes. Out of the different species of beings that visited, they seemd to comand the most presence, and in fact their kind had been known for being watchful guardians for millinea... hence their name, given with respect.

This knowledge did not sit well with many religious groups, who had maintained the belief that a deity and a legion of angels had been their protectors and helped them through history. This new batch of knowledge threatened to wreak the foundations of their preachings, and thus their organizations. They did not want to take this lying down. Also, many in goverment feared what plans these beings had, because most likely they would offset the systems that they had set up worldwide to keep themselves in power. Big businessses, who usualy had ties with goverment, also shared similar dilemas. Naturally, all these groups tried to find some ways to defame the beings and bring the masses to join them in their crusade. But despite some following mindlessly, as a few would always do, because of the past constant abuses and the fact that now ther was a chance to be rid of them, most did not follow suit.

These malcontents were not the only ones who were upset with the arrival of these beings. Not all otherwordly visiters had the best intentions of humans at heart: in fact there were many who were secretly planning to take over the planet and strip it for all of its resources. Earth was a planet rich in reserves, and was also a powerful energy source as well, unbeknownst to most human scientists. The malevolent beings wanted all this for themselves, but didn't want to outright take over the planet for fear of alerting the guardians to their actions. So they had planned to simply take over slowly by having the Humans destroy themselves, then take over when they are too weak to resist. The plan had almost suceeded, thanks to carefull planing and manipulations by strategicly placed agents, but then the protectors had to arrive.

There were several different beings vying for control of the planet. Chief among them were a reptilian race, called Sertallian. They tended to produce battle hungry warriors who thrived on power and conquest. In fact, they were part of another galactic order; this one an organization of warlords and conquorers. While not necessarily an evil group, many of the order have been responsible for many terrible acts of aggression in the galaxy, and the Sertallian empire in particular had been very ambitious at the time, eagar to acquire new territory. Furious at the so called meddling of the benevolent species, the Sertallians and their allies refused to let their carefully laid plans be dashed. After some deliberation amongst themselves, they decided to go ahead with another stange of their plans... one that they would use as backup in case things went wrong...

...the training of malevolent human beings into warriors like themselves.
