The Battle of 2012 is actually a bit misleading. One would think when they hear the name
that it was one major long battle that defined that particular year, or that it was the most
important battle of the year. Actually, The Battle of 2012 is really the name of the long
campaign waged by the United Jedi of Earth to liberate the planet of all Sith occupation,
and restore some sense of peace. It spaned many battles all across the Earth, striking at
major instilations and encampments of Sith warlords, human and otherwise. These were some
of the harshest fights to ever be fought in the Great Jedi war, and many brave Jedi lost their
lives.
The powerful Earth Jedi leaders who meet together to plan and put forth the campaign,
decided that in light of their lack of a unified central command (as most of the Elder Jedi
were not there at the time to guide them), they would form a council of their own, not only to
help oversee Jedi activities and actions on Earth, but to also act as an intermediary to the
Elder Jedi. Thus the Jedi Council of Earth was born. It consisted of 12 members, a tradition
that has continued to this day. Oddly enough, one person many thought should have been
on it, the Jedi known as the founder of the Order of the Black Phoenix, decided not to join.
He felt that it simply was not his place to be there, something that a lot of Jedi disagreed with,
as he and his Order were mostly responcible for freeing the New York region and the immediate
surrounding area of Sith influence, and he also played a major part in planing the 2012 campaign.
Because of this he was held in high regard by many of his peers, including those of the Council.
Non Jedi humans also played a major part in the Battle of 2012. Having already formed
various militias on Earth set up to fight against the invaders, they eagerly jumped at the chance
to play a part against their oppresing foes. Joining up with the Jedi in their region, they formed
strike teams designed for quick but effective hit and run style combat, as well as espionage
missions and the like. These "Stinger" groups as they were to be called, proved invaluable
to the defenders.
When the call went out on April to begin the opperation, Sith found themselves being
attacked simultaniously all over the planet. Major instalations were hit; powerfull warlords were
targeted. The Sith fought back hard, killing many brave men and women, but they were losing
their ground. Still, they believed that as long as long as they still had control over the hidden
underground bases, including the main one in Samballah, they would still have a chance.
They didn't know that it was ultimately these very instalations that the Jedi were after.
The conflict went on for months, sometimes with the tide seeming to sway back and forth
between the twio forces, though it was soon becoming clear that fate was on the side of the
Jedi. Even Nature seemed to be on their side. The Jedi were getting stronger, and those
flowing well with the tides of Nature were performing more and more extraordinary deeds.
Meanawhile the land continued to be ravaged, with many major cities completely destroyed.
Nations were literally vanishing from the face of the Earth, though not just because of the
destruction. People were fighting not out of a sense of patriotism for their country, but out of
a strong bond to life and other human beings. They were fighting for the liberation of all Humans.
Human and Alien Sith alike were finding themselves in a losing situation. They were being
beaten and they knew it. Realizing that banding together would work in their favor, they put
their differences and lust for self power aside to face the enemy united. This was a matter of
survival now, as well as to mantain a grip on what they thought was theirs. If they lost, they
would lose everything. Under the leadership of the Great Human Sith Lord known as the
Doomblade, they began to make a stand, matching their opponents cunning and determination
with much of their own. The battle began to get even more destructive. Still, things seemed
to be in the favor of the Jedi
Finaly, in the 23rd day on Month of December, 2012, the conflict had come to two major
points. The Jedi were about to make a seige upon the main underground base in Shamballah,
having taken most of the other minor ones. At the same time, the Sith warriors above the planet
were able to send news of and transport a powerfull weapon to their allies down below: an energy
cannon able to wipe out hundreds of people in one shot. It could level cities easily. The
Jedi on Earth, all united together, split into two groups: one to make the seige, the other to stop the
Sith from getting the cannon, named by the Doomblade, The Demonfire Gun. The Knights
set out, determined to claim these two major victories.
But things did not go according to plan. The Sith knew that the Jedi would try something,
and prepared themselves for the two attacks. A legion of Sith warriors were waiting in ambush
for the Jedi to arrive to stop the pick up, And in Shamballah, the Sith had well fortified
thesmelves for an attack, setting up the area around them for total anhialalation of their
approaching enemies. The Jedi were walking into a massacre.
Almost as soon as the fight started in both areas, the Jedi knew that they were in trouble.
There were at least 5 times as many foes to face then they had anticipated; the Sith did a good
job of hiding their real numbers in the later part of the year, making it look like they were losing
much more than they actually were. This was the brainchild of Doomblade: he wanted to set
it up so that he'd be able to wipe out most of the Jedi in one fell swoop.
The Jedi known as Mich'al was the one leading the assult upon Shamballah. Seeing the
carnage that was erupting all around him, he quickly rounded up his fellow Jedi and set up
a more defensive posture, while using his awesome powers to keep the Sith at bay, as well
as keep the Jedi alive. Meanwhile, Dayd Vallhallah was the one leading the above ground attack,
and he and the Black Phoenix were quickly changing attack strategies on the battlefield while things
were going ary. Both groups were soon pushed to the brink of desperation; Jedi were getting
killed left and right.
Mich'al soon formed a plan to feign retreat, leading most of the Sith fighters to follow
them into an inclosed area. Once that happened, he used his powers in the Force to bring up
a whirlwind of rocks and debris, smashing into the Sith warriors. then with a battle cry, he
charged into the chaos, cutting down his opponnents. The other Jedi seeing this and
blostered on by this courageous act, rushed in with him, soon turning the tide.
Things weren't going so well for the Jedi fighting the other battle however. While the
quick plans and fighting skills of Valhallah and The Black Phoenix were keeping the Jedi
forces alive, as well as whittling down the enemy some, the Sith were still well positioned, and
in large overwhelming numbers. The Jedi were soon completely trapped, and were fighting
despreately for their lives. Suddenly disaster hit even harder. Valhallah was struck down by
Doomblade. Members of the Jibberim Jedi Order and the Order of the Black Phoenix, quickly
created a blitz of destruction, giving the Jedi a chance to retreat into quieter parts of the ruined city
battleground they were in so that they could like their wounds. But with Valhallah, their great
hero dying, most of the Jedi and militia fighters were demoralized. And the Sith were closing in.
Suddenly the leader of the Black Phoenix order began to head towards the advancing
enemy, his features grim. Many Jedi and some his fellow clan members were warning him to
stay away, but he kept advancing. His clan members went with him, as well as other Jedi ready
to sacrafice themselves for the others. They all thought that he was going to try to fight the Sith
head on so that the others would have a chance to escape, and they were prepared to die
with him. He flew ahead of them though, running and jumping swiftly and nimbly from
roof top to ruined roof top, and it was hard for the others to catch up.
Entering an open area, the Black Phoenix leader stood alone in the middle of the street
in silence, head lowered, waiting for the enemy to arrive. They soon arrived in large numbers, laughing at
the sight of a single opponent waiting for them. Many recogized him as the one who many
Darksiders spoke of in fear, and while a few were a little aprehensive, they were still certian that
they would finaly lay this man low.
They were sadly mistaken.
Just as they charged, the Jedi let loose a powerful cry...and in that moment an overwhelming
suge of energy lashed forth from him in all directions, touching all those heading towards him,
sending them flying away, torn apart and elgulfed in green flames. Another surge of energy
and light burst forth, and when it dimed, the Sith faced the horrifying sight of a Jedi staring at
them with two glowng eyes, and not a trace of emotion or mercy in them. Without a word, he
ignited his lightsabre and unsheathed his katchzin blade, and in a flash began cutting them
down.
The Sith were soon fleeing in terror, trying their best to save their lives, as the Black
Phoenix Jedi lashed about them like St Elmo's fire, mowing down the enemy with masterfull
sword attacks and frightning Force derived energy blasts . The Jedi who finally arrived were
greeted with a scene that defied discription. His wife happend to have seen the whole thing
unfold, and the Jedi found her staring opened mouthed in shock...a look that the others soon
shared. Even the Elders who were with them were shocked. Said the Lucasian Jedi Kyle
Raveneye: "I didn't know which was more horrifying; the Sith cutting us down so viciously, or
this Jedi bringing such chaos upon them so ruthlessly and efforlessly." Lightning was striking,
winds were blowing, buildings were crumbling down, and Sith were being massecred left and
right. Throughout all this, the Black Phoenix leader continued to possess the errie calm upon
his face and those two glowing green eyes of his, his aura apearing to be green flame all
about him to those looking on.
The Jedi soon snapped out of their shock and began to charge, telepathicly calling the
others and letting them know what was going on. Their morale blostered, the Jedi and the
baseline human fighters began to push back the enemy...all the while keeping their distance
from the chaos delivering Jedi Knight in front of them.
The battle in Shamballah soon turned into a rout, with Sith trying to head back within
the fortress walls. While the Jedi continued to charge ahead, Mich'al suddenly lahed out with
a powerfull surge of Force power. Light shining from him, he fired a huge Force blast straight
Into the wall of the fortress, blasting a huge hole into it for the Jedi to charge into. Interestingly,
Mich'al energy surge seems to have coinsided with the power surge that the Black Phoenix
leader experienced. Jedi Historians later on have speculated that the two may have been on
the same wavelength, and/or have attuned themselves to a certian fluxuation in the Force.
There has also been some research pointing to the fact that a surge in the Force was building
up during that year, and the Jedi must have patched into it when it hit it's peak. Other Jedi
were showing signs of enhanced power during that battle, so the theory has some merit.
Jedi soon were in the Shamballah base itself, battling the powerfull Sith Lords there.
The Reptilian Sith known as Krith'oth, a mighty warrior well known in the galaxy, was
determined to fight to the end, and many valiant fighters died by his blade. Mich'al faced him
head on, and after a terrible battle, despite wounds he incured, the Jedi was the victor..
Their leader fallen, the Sith there were in taters, and within mometns, the Jedi and militia
fighters were triumpant. Shamballah was theirs.
Meanwhile, battle continued between Jedi and Sith above ground, with Sith
running in terror from this new threat, the tide turning harshly. Doomblade despreatly tried to
escape to get to theDemonfire Gun nearby, which had just arrived, so that he could end
the battle. But the Black Phoenix leader caught up to him. Enraged, the Sith Lord attacked with
a fury and power that would have fallen an army, but the Jedi stood his ground, beating the
Sith Lord back with amaizing skill and power. Badly beaten and wounded, he would have died if
his two apprentices hadn't gotten in the way. The Jedi droped them easily, but the Sith Lord
got away, and reaching his weapon, started it up. Rising into the air, the Demonfire Gun was
aimed at the battlefield below. Insane with anger and seeming conquest, Doomblade fired,
and all those below instantly saw death before them.
The Black Phoenix Leader was right at the point of the beam's impact. To the complete
shock of all those present, he raised his hand, and created a Force derived barrier, stoping
the beam from striking...and then redirected all that energy back towards the weapon, both the
beam's and the Force barrier's. Doomblade had no way to escape, and he and the cannon
were both utterly erradicated.
Complete silence entered the battleground, all eyes upon the black garbed Jedi. The
Sith, realizing they had no chance, and no longer willing to risk their lives, surrendered
immediately.
Jedi gathered around the fallen form of Dayd Valhallah, tears in many eyes. His life was
fading away, and soon he would be in the Force. The Order of the Black Phoenix joined all
the other clans gathered to pay their repects. Their leader however steped forward. After
looking upon the great Jedi, he knelt down and touched his forehead. After a moment he got
up...and Valhallah suddenly opened his eyes. Looking up at the form in front of him with the
glowing green eyes, he uttered the statment well known by many historians....
"Are you real? Or some strange dark angel?"
Snow fell upon the battlefield as the humans one by one let up a cheer. The last of the
great Sith Lords on Earth had fallen, and the smaller warriors would soon be fleeing the
planet, freeing the inhabitants from their terrible oppression.
The Battle of 2012, as well as Earth's occupation and rule by Darkside warriors, was over.
