Height: 5'6"
Weight: 200 lbs
Hair: none (it's a droid)
Eyes: glowing light blue
Aura: none (again, it's a droid)
Color/s: Black and sliver
Other distinguishing marks/traits/habits: two sensor antenne on it's audio recivers, no functioning "mouth", though it does have the ability to speak and compunicate. Extremly independant, with strong decision making capabilities. Possesses a sharp wit and a somewhat confrontational and sarcastic personality. Has developed a liking for ship matenence, computer hacking and intelegence gathering, and old strategy games (like Chess and Go).
Weapons: Carries two blue bladed lightsabres in hidden leg compartments, laser blasters hidden in forearms.
alignment: scrupulous, independant droid.
Notable Features, Skills: is able to attach it's highly advanced neural unit to any computer, and can control any computerized craft and vehical by "patching in" thus controling it as if it was it's own body. It's main body is incredibly agile and thus is able to perform a high number of advanced activites, including fighting. Has been programed with a vast array of fighting skills, as well as the ability to learn more (NX prefered to learn lightsabre fighting and if human, would be considered a high level expert).
Description: The wise cracking, sharp witted, and often irritating droid known as NX is not your typical mechanoid. Well known as the Jedi Sah'ar Suntoucher's droid companion (it'd never consider itself as owned by anyone) at the Jedi Academy, NX is one droid that always leaves a lasting impression on people, whether with his sharp intelegence, his amazing human like manner, or his sharp wit when tossing off insults.
The droid has a strange history. It's full name NX-297, it was developed by the now legendary and yet defunct robotics company known as InteliTech as part of a new series of android. The company had always been known for their radical designs and their superior Ai programs which made their driods so incredibly life-like, that some would think their droids were full conversion cyborgs. The engineers there had developed plans for a new type of combat driod that would be far more advanced than models made at the time. It would feature their highest Ai program yet; a system that was not only highly inteligent, but was able to adapt and learn from it's enviornment and retain a vast amount of data very easily. The neural unit that housed this program could be easily removed from the main droid body, and attached to any onboard computer on a ship or smaller vehical. Taking control of the main functions with the computer acting as a secondory backgound running system, the vehical of ship would become like the driod's own body, making for amazing control and co-ordination. The droid's main body would be built to be very durable, and as agile as a highly trained and flexible human being, for excellent battle prowess and dependibility. When completed, this new line of droid would be among the best ever developed. NX was one of the first working models, and was given the number 927, the date that was activated.
This did not sit well with a Martian based robotics company, known as AresCorp. Known for their war ready models of driods, AresCorp had good scientists working for them, as well as a ruthless marketing campain, but the smaller InteliTech was always churning out better droids. AresCorp was getting tired of this, and when they heard of the new models coming out, they paniked. They had been trying to get an account with a planet looking for an advanced model of battle driod, and they were sure that if they heard of InteliTech's new plans, they'd lose the client.
Determined to not let this happen, they hired some mercenaries to sneak into the small robotics company and sabatoge their work, and also if they can, to steal any plans they could on the model. However, in a strange quirk, the mercenaries thought that they were supposed to destroy the InteliTech building. And so in a blaze of mindless carnage, they did just that.
Most of the people made it out, but the droids weren't so lucky. Most of the preliminary models were destroyed. NX however, who was fully operational, made it out intact. Another one, NX-056, also escaped, but was badly damaged. A third disapeared; it might have escaped, but no one knows for sure, as it was not accounted for.
NX wandered the galaxy for a short time, not sure what to do. Its personallity, programed after a good friend of the scientist that created it, fully developed, and it tried to think of some way to survive. It somehow developed the notion to be independant; it didn't want anyone to be it's master. NX soon found it's way to the Suntoucher family, and after getting caught in a small adventure with the father, Als'bur Suntoucher, took a liking to the man, and decided to stay with him, not as a servant, but as a partner to help around with Jedi research and such. The father agreed, and was happy to see this droid and first born son Sah'ar and the droid hitting it off so well. For some reason, the two really liked each other, despite the little arguments they'd have from time to time; particularly about Sah'ar's ship, The Friendly Box.
When Sah'ar later decided to wander the galaxy, after going through a major point in his life, NX didn't hesitate to go with him. It knew of the hardship that the young Jedi went through, and felt sorry for him, feeling that soneone should be able to be there for him. While it won't admit it out loud, it cares deeply for the human. However it may act, it will always have his back.
NX has proven to be a good partner over the years. It's extremely resourcefull, intelligent, and crafty, helping Sah'ar out in many jams. Whether gunning down enemy fighters, backing Sah'ar up in a melee, or encoding and decoding trasmisions, NX always does a great job. It's one fault however is money. NX is somewhat of a penny pincher, and it's always complaining about repair and upgrade prices for the ship, or looking for any thing that seems lucrative. Well, no one said NX was perfect...though it would probably disagree with that.
