Other distinguishing marks/traits/habits: Sparks generally tends to be quiet and reserved, though around friends he is a bit more open and good-humored. Those that do not know him, however, only see his soft-spoken, even-tempered demeanor. In the field, Sparks is decisive and quick-thinking, able to keep a cool head and a steady hand in a tight spot. Sparks also has a fist-sized tattoo of a wolf on the upper right of his back, and has various noticeable scars on his right hand.

Weapons: Simple, pragmatic lightsaber with blue blade; a gift from Sah'ar Suntoucher. Carries a modified DL-44 blaster pistol given to him by Alcander Caedmon that, while ugly, is extraordinarily accurate and reliable. In the field, he often carries a modified slugthrower sniper rifle, useful against shield systems that can detect and block blaster fire.

Discipline: Former CorSec officer; Jedi Knight and Jedi Intelligence Field Operative.

Notable Skills: Sparks is most notably an expert in hostile environment survival and navigation, and is an exceptionally skilled martial artist and marksman. During his time with CorSec, Sparks was trained extensively in covert surveillance techniques and developed an uncanny eye for observing detail. Since training at the Jedi Academy, Sparks has grown into a respectfully capable Jedi Knight.

Bio: Sparks was born in the rural, cold northern region of the planet Corellia .His father, a navigator in the Federal Navy, had passed away when Sparks was only 3, and he and his younger brother were raised by their mother, a medical instructor. While attending a local university, he studied a range of subjects, his specialty being philosophy and mystical traditions of the core worlds. It was here that he learned of the Jedi Order, and had secret hopes that one day he may join their ranks. Sparks spent any free time he had training in the martial arts, target shooting, and wandering the wilderness of rural Corellia. It was in those forests that his sensitivity to the Force manifested itself as highly acute senses and reflexes. During his later years of schooling, he met the woman who would be the love of his life, a force-sensitive named Sionnach. When his schooling was completed, Sparks joined the Corellian Security Forces, called CorSec. This was an ambitious and idealistic time in his life, and he had every intention of ridding Correllia of scum and villainy. It was on the streets of Corellia that Sparks proved his worth, earning a reputation as an officer who was agile in both body and mind.

Over time, however, the glossy veneer of idealism gave way to hard reality. For all it’s merit, CorSec was plagued with corruption, and Sparks had seen much that made him doubt his choice as an officer. Eventually, Sparks had had enough of the political pandering, and officially resigned from CorSec. The idealism of youth had faded, and in it’s place was disillusioned skepticism of anything that claimed to be a "just cause". A decorated CorSec officer and a force-sensitive to boot, he had offers to join the Federal Commando Unit, even the Antarian Rangers, though in the end he was unwilling to submit his loyalty and trust as easily as he had before. Ultimately, it was the offer of a Jedi that piqued his interest. He revealed to Sparks that he had been observing his conduct as a CorSec officer, and was waiting until the right moment to extend an invitation to the Jedi Academy on Terra. Sparks began his formal training not one standard week later, and over the years grew into a powerful and talented Jedi Knight. It was at the Academy that Sparks met many a lifetime friend, including fellow Corellian Alcander Caedmon, and Dan Tam of Jedi Intelligence. His first assignment as a Jedi Knight was to assist a handful of Jedi from Earth to the planet Atabal, an assignment which nearly proved to be his last.

After Atabal, Sparks was persuaded by Dan Tam to join Jedi Intelligence. He reluctantly agreed, and they soon put his skills in wilderness survival and surveillance to use as a field surveillance agent. His first mission was to Mars, a planet ravaged with civil war. The details of the mission are still classified, but his role in obtaining vital intelligence on the warring factions on Mars, not to mention his covert role in the "disappearance" of known smuggler and slaver Rene Lazlo, earned Sparks a commission as a Lieutenant in Jedi Intelligence. Sparks was later reassigned to aid Commander Alcander Caedmon, now under contract for the Navy, in obtaining intelligence on Mal'Kith's fringe empire. Sparks provided the Jedi Commander with in-the-field manpower, relaying intelligence to Caedmon's crack fighter squadron.

The Academy became more than just a school to Sparks – it was a place where he trained as a Jedi, yet was also a place where he made life-long friendships, fought many battles for, and learned many lessons from. It was here that Sparks was introduced to the way of the lightsaber by longtime friend Sah'ar Suntoucher, easily one of the greatest swordsman ever. Sparks chose only to develop the most practical and pragmatic of lightsaber styles, Lucasian Basic Lightsaber Style Form I, and has since become quite skilled with a blade in his own right. Sparks also spends much of his time in the cockpit of his Corellian YT-2400, putting his acute sense and quick reflexes to use as a pilot and navigator. With Sionnach, Sparks now teaches wilderness survival to the padawans, though his own training and duties in the field keep him busy most of the time. Yet, he always return to the Academy, and if he has it his way, always will.
